AOA Council Purpose
The AOA Advisory Council exists to advise the AOA Program staff and the YMCA’s Board of Managers, and to make program and policy recommendations to benefit AOA Program members and the over-55 population of this community in ways consistent with the purpose of the AOA Program. These Council volunteers and staff work together as a team in accordance with the YMCA Mission Statement and AOA Program Purpose.
The YMCA Mission Statement states, the YMCA is dedicated to improving the quality of human life and to helping all people realize their fullest potential as children of God through the development of the Spirit, Mind and Body.
The AOA Program exists to significantly improve and positively influence the quality of life for older adults in our community. Emphasis is placed on the whole person through programs that develop physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being.
