To ensure that no one is turned away because of an
inability to pay, we truly need your help. Through the
YMCA Annual Support Campaign, your contribution helps
us provide program support and financial assistance to
families who need it in our community. Only by
working together can we give more kids the opportunity
to grow strong in spirit, mind and body.
We build strong kids
The South Bay Family YMCA works best
when all kids have an opportunity to be
part of it.
At the YMCA one of our most important goals has
always been to enrich the lives of kids in our community.
But, when some are left out, it leaves us all a bit poorer.
That’s because giving kids a safe and nurturing place to
go benefits everyone. By introducing them to experiences
that will help them grow into responsible, successful
adults, we make the community we love a better place to
live. One child at a time.
YMCA programs teach young people important values
such as Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
Through a variety of fun and rewarding activities, they
also develop valuable skills while they gain confidence
and self-esteem. You simply can’t put a price on strengthening
and enriching the character of a child.
Here’s how strong kids are built at our YMCA:
• Competing in values-based sports programs
• Participation in swim lessons and swim team
• Attending gymnastics classes and gymnastics team
• Before & after school programs serving local schools
• Year round day camps
• Participating in our teen programs
• YMCA FitSquad and Kidz Power
We build
strong families
The South Bay Family YMCA works best
when all families have an opportunity to
be part of it.
At the YMCA we help all people realize their fullest
potential. Each year our YMCA serves over 30,000 youth,
teens, families and seniors through a variety of programs.
Donations from last year’s campaign helped families experience
the positive effects of YMCA programs and activities.
Here at the South Bay Family YMCA we
build strong families by:
• Providing family events and Parent’s Night-out
• Giving parents the opportunity to help coach their
child’s
sport team
• Giving families opportunities to stay healthy through
fitness programs like Family Yoga and Healthy Kids
Day
• Open book reading/literacy program
We build strong
communities
The South Bay Family YMCA works best
when the whole community has an
opportunity to be part of it.
From senior citizens to community events to after
school programming for kids, the YMCA is an integral part
of our community. By working with other private and
non-profit organizations, the YMCA brings out the best in
all of us for the good of all.
Here at the South Bay Family YMCA we build
strong communities with:
• Social and fitness activities for youth, teens, families
and seniors
• Volunteer leadership opportunities
• Collaborating with community schools: Chula Vista
Elementary School District, National School District
and Sweetwater Union High School District
Membership and program fees at the
South Bay Family YMCA do not cover
all of the costs to support these vital
community programs.
