Our Y is here to help
From February 9th,
2012 to March 8th, 2012, our South Bay Family YMCA has a goal of raising
$400,000 in needed funds, to ensure that no one is turned away from our
programs and services because of their inability to pay. These dollars help our Y fulfill our promise of strengthening the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Annual Support Campaign makes our south bay community stronger by investing in kids’ dreams, growing families’ bonds, and uniting our south bay community.
94 cents of every dollar invested in our Y goes back into programs and assistance for local south bay families in need.

When the closing bell rings at the end of the day, I’m your best investment. I’m your hedge against rising obesity, hate crime, tragic disease and despair. I’m your best hope for tomorrow and the security of this great nation. I’m your secured future. If given a place like the Y to nurture my spirit and express myself positively, I could do amazing things when I grow up. Maybe I will become the first female President of the United States, or maybe I will discover a cure for cancer, or maybe I will win a gold medal in the Olympics for our country. And when asked what made it possible for me, I will tell of my fond memories of the Y—the care and guidance I received the friends that I made, and the experiences that I’ll never forget. I will acknowledge YOU – YOU who had the foresight to make an investment in me. Most likely, we might never meet. So, I thank you in advance for all that you have done for me, and the thousands like me. You invested in me! THANK YOU. |
