Purpose & Goals
The YMCA Active Adult Advisory Council exists to advise the Active Adults Program staff and the YMCA Board of Managers, and to make program and policy recommendations to benefit YAA Program members and the over-55 population of this community in ways consistent with the purpose of the YAA Program. These Council volunteers and staff work together as a team in accordance with the YMCA Mission Statement and YAA Program Purpose. The YMCA Mission Statement states, the YMCA is dedicated to improving the quality of human life and to helping all people realize their fullest potential as children of God through the development of the Spirit, Mind and Body. The YAA Program exists to significantly improve and positively influence the quality of life for older adults in our community. Emphasis is placed on the whole person through programs that develop physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being. |
